Resolution 473PLANNING COMMISSION
RESOLUTION NO. 473
A RESOLUTION TO THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EDMONDS RECOMMENDING
DENIAL OF A PROPOSED AMENDMENT TO THE OFFICIAL ZONING ORDINANCE OF
THE CITY OF EDMONDS, SECTION 12.13.150 TO ALLOW TAVERNS IN BN DISTRICTS
WITH A CONDITIONAL USE PERMIT, AS SET FORTH IN PLANNING COMMISSION FILE
NO. ZO-7-75.
WHEREAS, the Planning Commission of the City of Edmonds,
pursuant to proper notice and publication, held a public hearing on a
proposal to amend the Official Zoning Ordinance, Section 12.13.150 to
allow taverns in BN Districts with a Conditional Use Permit, and
WHEREAS, having made findings based on report and
recommendations by Police Chief, it was determined that there is a
policing problem with taverns, that a tavern in BN Districts would
impact a residential area and would not be in the best interest of
the public health, safety and welfare of residents of that area; now,
therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED, that the Planning Commission recommends
and forwards to the City Council of the City of Edmonds, that the
proposed amendment to Section 12.13.150 to allow taverns in BN
Districts with a Conditional Use Permit, be denied.
DATED as of the 23rd day of April, 1975.
