RESOLUTION NO. 478
A RESOLUTION TO THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EDMONDS RECOMMENDING
APPROVAL TO AMEND THE OFFICAL ZONING ORDINANCE OF SAID CITY, SECTION
12.14.060 THROUGH SECTION 12.14.069, THE PLANNED RESIDENTIAL DEVELOPMENT
APPROVAL PROCEDURE FOR THE CITY OF EDMONDS, AS SET FORTH IN THE PLANNING
COMMISSION FILE NO. Z0-19-75.
WHEREAS, flexibility provided by the planned residential
development provides more efficiency in the use of utilities and streets
lowering land development and maintenance cost, and
WHEREAS, the planned residential development provides for
the grouping of structures creating more useable open space benefitting
the occupants and adjoining land owners, and
WHEREAS, the sites easily developed have been developed
and the sites remaining, frequently, have topographical, shape configu-
rations or other characteristics that require special development con-
siderations, and
WHEREAS, the lot by lot development induces a monotonous
form of development, and
WHEREAS,, flexibility of development regulations would
encourage retention of the natural conditions and vegetation that are
unique and contribute to the special character of the city, and
WHEREAS, the Planning Commission determined that the
proposed amendments to the Planned Residential Development Approval
Prodecure should be adopted, as set forth in "EXHIBIT A" attached; now,
therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED that the Planning Commission recommends and
forwards to the City Council of the City of Edmonds, that the proposed
amendments to the Planned Residential Development Approval Procedure as
set forth in "Exhibit A" attached, be adopted.
