RESOLUTION NO. 484
A RESOLUTION TO THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EDMONDS RECOMMENDING
DENIAL OF A PROPOSED AMENDMENT TO THE OFFICIAL ZONING MAP OF SAID
CITY, TO REZONE FROM COMMUNITY BUSINESS (BC) TO MULTIPLE RESIDENTIAL
HIGH DENSITY (RMH), THAT CERTAIN PROPERTY DESCRIBED IN PLANNING
COMMISSION FILE NO. R-4-75.
WHEREAS, the Planning Commission of the City of
Edmonds, pursuant to proper notice and publication, held a public
hearing on a proposed amendment to the Official Zoning Map to rezone
that certain property described as Blocks 2 and 5 (north of Bell
between 3rd N. and 5th N.) and Lots 1 thru 4 of Block J, zoned "BC"
at the northeast corner of Edmonds Street and 3rd N., and any portion
of the alley zoned "BCV in Block J, said property to be rezoned from
"BC" to "RMH", and
WHEREAS, it was determined by the Planning Commission
in findings set forth in "Exhibit All attached hereto, that certain
property described in "Exhibit B" attached hereto, be denied; now,
therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED that the Planning Commission recommends
and forwards to the City Council of said City, that the proposed amend-
ment to the Official Zoning Map to rezone from Community Business (BC)
to Multiple Residential High Density (RMH), that certain property
described in "Exhibit B", be denied.

The Planning Commission, in public hearings on June 11, 1975 and July
9, 1975, established the following findings:
1. There was an overwhelming response from property
owners in that area, that the,present zoning be
retained.
2. With the present zoning of "BC" the property can be
used for community business as well as residential.
3. That the Community Business zoning within one block
of the downtown business district is more desirable
than Multiple Residential.
4. That the present zoning would best serve the interest
of the general public at this time.
