RESOLUTION NO: 498
A RESOLUTION TO THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EDMONDS
RECOMMENDING DENIAL OF A PROPOSED AMENDMENT TO THE OFFICIAL ZONING
MAP OF THE CITY OF EDMONDS TO CHANGE THE ZONING DESIGNATION OF THAT
AREA DESCRIBED IN EXHIBIT "A' FROM RESIDENTIAL SINGLE FAMILY MINIMUM
LOT SIZE 8,000 SQ. FEET (RS8) TO RESIDENTIAL MULTI -FAMILY LOW DENSITY
(RML)
WHEREAS, the Planning Commission of the City of Edmonds
pursuant to proper notice and publication, held a public hearing on
a proposal to amend the official zoning map of the City of Edmonds to
change the zoning designation of that area described in Exhibit "A'
from Residential Single Family Minimum lot size 8,000 sq. feet (RS8)
to Residential Multi -family Low Density (RML).
WHEREAS, the character of the neighborhood near the pro-
posed rezone is Single Family and residents expressed a desire that
it remain single family in character, and
WHEREAS, the traffic generated would adversely affect the
neighborhood streets nearby, and
WHEREAS, there is no demonstrated need in the community for
additional zoning of this nature due to the fact that there are sub-
stantial quantities of land already zoned for Multi -Family use that
are vacant or otherwise not being used for such purposes, therefore
BE IT RESOLVED that the Planning Commission forwards to the
City Council of the City of Edmonds the proposed amendment to the
Official Zoning Code as set forth in Exhibit "A" attached, and
recommends it be denied.

Hawardan Tracts, Replat of Tracts 8,9,10, Block 3, Plat of Alderwood
Manor No. 9, according to Plat thereof recorded in Volume 14 or Plats,
Page 69, records of Snohomish County.
Subject to rights to drain all roads and streets over and across any
lot or lots, where water might take a natural course after roads and
avenues are graded in, reserved in dedication of the plat.
