A RESOLUTION TO RECOMMEND THE AMENDMENT OF OFFICIAL MAP "A" (DESIGNATED THE
COMPREHENSIVE PLAN) AND OFFICIAL MAP "B" (DESIGNATED THE ZONING MAP) OF THE
CITY OF EDMONDS BY REZONING CERTAIN PROPERTY FROM R-8 (ONE FAMILY RESIDENTIAL)
TO R-C (RESTRICTIVE COMMERCIAL) IN ACCORDANCE WITH PLANNING COMMISSION FILE
NO. R-15-63T
WHEREAS the 20th day of November, 1963, at 6:00 p.m., was the date and
time set for public hearing to amend the Zoning Code and Official Maps of
the City of Edmonds by rezoning from R-8 (One Family Residential) to C-2
(Heavy Commercial) those various properties facing on the East side of 76th
Ave. W. and running southerly from a line on U.S. Highway 99 adjacent to the
south boundary of tract occupied by temporary Elks Lodge for a distance of
520', more or less, and legally described as follows:
The North 1/2 of North 264' of West 1/2 of Southwest 1/4 of Southwest
1/4 of Southwest 1/4, Sec. 29, Township 27N, R4E, W.M.; and
The South 1/2 of North 264' of West 1/2 of Southwest 1/4 of Southwest
1/4 of Southwest 1/4, Sec. 29, Township 27N, R4E, W.M.; and
Sec. 29, Township 27N, R4E, W.M., Levy 169, Code 0225 RT-39, the
North 113' of South 256' of West 1/2 of Southwest 1/4 of Southwest
1/4 of Southwest 1/4 less road; TOGETHER with Sec. 29, Township
27N, R4E, W.M., Levy 169, Code 0225 RT-38, the West 1/2 of Southwest
1/4 of Southwest 1/4 of Southwest 1/4 less West 30' less South 256'
and less North 2641; and
WHEREAS, at the time and date fixed for said public hearing to consider
rezoning of said area, it appeared that proper notice and publication had
been effected; and
WHEREAS, after due consideration of present existing use and surrounding
neighborhood zoning, it appears that zoning classification of R-C, Restricted
Commercial, rather than C-2, Heavy Commercial, is the most consistent with
the advantageous development and appropriate use of said property and the
health, safety, morals, and general welfare of the public; and
WHEREAS, petitioners for rezone agreed to accept a higher zoning classi-
fication than that requested;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED By the Planning Commission of the City
of Edmonds that recommendation be made to the City Council of said City that
