The issue of leaving Brackett's Landing parking, located to the north of the ferry dock, open later has
some reservations from the Mayor because the need for the City to clean up the parking area if it were
to be open a few more hours. The committee decided to ask Carrie Hite, Parks, Recreation, and Cultural
Services Director, to the June meeting to hear her thoughts and concerns.
The parking violation penalty change/parking code amendments as well as a Code re -write for a
definition of "visitor" was going before the Public Safety/Human Resources Committee on May 81n,
2012. At the next meeting Adrienne will update the committee.
Debbie reported that it is a fact that Employee Permit Parking Funds can be used for parking
enforcement equipment. More discussions between the Police, IT and the Court will be taking place so
this item will be placed on the June agenda.
3 hour parking restrictions on 3d Avenue South from Walnut to Pine, passed on the consent agenda that
was before the City Counsel. It was noted that signs had yet to be put up by Public Works of this
change. This item is moved to the June agenda.
Under new business Debbie brought up that the signs on Sunset Avenue need to be changed to make it
clear what the parking restrictions are. She mentioned that the current sign has two different
restrictions on it and that there needs to be two separate signs on each pole to help clarify the
restrictions. She will follow up on this and report back to the committee in June.
Edmonds Woodway High School parking problem? To finally put this item to rest, Adrienne will talk to
the Police Chief to see if the school has contacted the City about any parking problems. Any new
information will be brought forth to the June meeting.
