City Council to "De -formalize or disband the Library Board, since
library operations are now under the Library District. That means
City staff would not attend."

Tim Healy, Wendy Kendall, Judy Sasges, Leslie Elsaesser, Chy

II. Minutes of meeting August 17

III. Public comment — no comment
IV. Old Business — Continue discussion on Mayor's recommendation
to the Edmonds City Council to "de -formalize or disband the
Library Board, since library operations are now under the Library
District. That means City staff would not attend."
a) Cost $3,000 — $51000
b) Not back to council until January or February

d) Board will vote on course of action at December 7 meeting
e) Wendy will draft potential new mission and email for others
to update/edit
V. New Business —
a) Saturday Nov 14 Library Tech Fair and Open House
i. Merge separate activities to generate bigger attendance
ii. Recommend Board to attend as advocates of the library
including Book a Librarian service and other library
services
iii. Will also have flu shots in the meeting room same day
VI. Reports:
• Chy Ross, Managing Librarian, Edmonds Public_Library
• Handout
• Tracking on TEDx at ECA and also live stream at Edmonds
Plaza Room and 9 other Library facilities and on the Web,
and can also be downloaded or viewed after November 6tn
• Need volunteers to judge the essay contest
o Joanne volunteered
• Promoting Corporate matching volunteer program
• STEM story time, includes activities after the stories — this is
within the weekly preschool story time
• Judy Sas es Sno--Isle Libraries
• Facilities survey to get public input for what Library should
look like in the next 10 years
• Reaching out into the community at specific places on
specific dates, and can also give input online
• Results will be shared with a report in 2016, estimate March
• Leslie Elsaesser, Edmonds Friends of the Library
• Annual book sale is coming up — so many donations!
• Also sell to booksellers at the annual book sale
• Were unable to put up the banner this year as usual, looking
for alternative advertising
• Book moving is being done for the annual book sale by the
Edmonds Methodist Church Youth Group
• Looking to start sales on Ebay
• Leslie accepted proclamation of National Friends of the
Library Week and represented the Friends very well
• Cynthia Cruz, City of Edmonds
• City improving landscaping in east parking lot
