Narrative
This is a special budget workshop called by the Mayor. It is the first in a series of stakeholder
conversations to be held in the process of developing the 2011 budget.
The staff and Mayor will provide council with the preliminary compilation of revenue projections as well
as spending priorities. Council will also get historical information from each department that will
highlight the services we provide and the cost of doing business.
The goal is to provide council with the information currently available to the Mayor and to collect
feedback from council, creating a more collaborative budget development process. Please note that this is
not a presentation of the Mayor’s preliminary budget, but rather an exercise of providing current
information and collecting council input.
In closing, this is a conversation between elected and hired city leaders; the Council, staff and Mayor. The
public is invited to attend, but there is no public comment period set aside in this early stage of
information synthesis.
