In your letter of July 8, 1969, you asked several questions relative to 9th Avaue, First, 9t4 Avenue has been designated an arterial for approximately the past 'six years on. the Comprehensive "Thoroughfare Plane .Presently, aaginesring is nearing completion and right•of-xay aa4uis3tion is underway for the improvement of9th Avenue which is tentatively scheduled for construction in the spring of 1970. The improvement is planned to consist of paging to a width of 44 feet, curbs, gutters srid sidewalks on both sides of -the street. the improvement has been, approved for 90 percent financing by the State Urban Arterial Board with the City participating .in the remaining 10 percent. The present -.City Council's policy is to assess property along an urban arterial project at a;4ost of $4,00 per Bone front foot which covers . approximately the cost of aidewalkd,- curbs and gutters.
