Thank you for contacting me earlier this month and letting me know your property is currently
connected to the public sewer system. The purpose of this letter is to confirm our telephone
conversation from December 21, 2009, regarding the proposed special sewer connection fee and
how it relates to your property at 17626 Olympic View Drive (OVD).
Your property will remain in the proposed ordinance that will establish a special sewer
connection fee for the recent sewer improvements built with the Olympic View Drive street
project. The information related to this ordinance and the special connection fee is covered in
my previous letter to you dated December 3, 2009.
Under the proposed ordinance, payment of the special connection fee for your property may be
deferred until such time that you decide to connect to a future sewer collector that connects to the
manhole and collector stub built with the OVD street project. If and when you connect in the
future, the special connection fee will be increased based on the cumulative multiple equal to the
Department of Labor Bureau Statistics Consumer Price Index for construction for Seattle -
Bellevue -Everett.
As mentioned in my earlier letter, the Edmonds City Council is scheduled to consider the special
connection fee ordinance at the Council meeting scheduled for Tuesday, January 5, 2010. A
public hearing will be held during the meeting to provide citizens with an opportunity to
comment on the proposed special sewer connection fee.
