RE: Sanitary Sewer Connection Charge and. Abatement of Septic Tank

Dear Perrinville Joint Venture;

It has been brought to the attention of the City of Edmonds that when you had the building at 7533
Olympic View Drive connected to the sewer main on October 16, 2003, the Sewer Connection Charge
was not paid. In accordance with Edmonds City Code 7.30.035A (copy enclosed), the required sewer
connection charge for your property is $1,844.91. Please submit a check in this amount to the City of
Edmonds, Development Services Department, within 30 days. If, in fact, such charge has been paid,
please provide proof of payment to the Developments Services Department as soon as possible.
In addition, our utility billing records indicate that you have only been paying the required monthly
connected sewer service rate since October 29, 2004, the date our Utility Billing office became aware that
your property is connected to the sewer system. Back charges for the difference between the connected
sewer service rate and the unconnected sewer service rate will apply from October 16, 2003 to October
29, 2004, and you will be receiving a bill from the City for these back charges in the near future.
On October 9, 2003, Side Sewer Permit No. 9777 was issued to you. Our records indicate that your
building had been connected to a septic tank up to the date of connection to the sewer system on October
16, 2003. You and/or the contractor performing the work failed to inform the City of Edmonds of the
existence of such septic tank; therefore, the City's Engineering Inspector did not inspect for the proper
decommissioning of the septic tank.
Please contact the Engineering Division at 425-771-0220, Ext. 1326, to schedule an inspection for the
proper abatement of the septic tank. Please refer to the enclosed Side Sewer Information handout for
abate ient requirements.
