The City building division has been informed by the Edmonds Postmaster
that due to the future assignment of new zip codes in our City, several.
addresses must be changed. Your current address is affected and must
be changed to the following:
r 211-Olympic View Drive CHANGED TO 9205 Olympi-- View Drive
As required by the Uniform Building Code, the new address numbers must
be posted on the residence in a highly visible place, at your earliest
convenience.
The City will notify all applicable City departments of this address
change, it will be your responsibility to notify all others. The Post
Office has guaranteed postal service of up to one year on the old
address. The Post Office will notify you in writing regarding the
effective date of the new zip code change.

Dear Sir:
On receipt of your letter of August 7, 1969 1 discussed with the i.ity
Engineer some of the possibilities for water along the private road
which you mentioned.
There are many legalities involved in placement of water mains alo•,9
such private roads. These should be discussed both with the City
Engineer and the City Attorney. it is also my understanding that it
would be impossible for the wheels to turn fast enough to place the
water line in the same time with the sewer.
We have many such. areas with the City of Edmonds where the water
mains and water pressure are quite inadequate. There has been much
discussion and many delays within the City Council regarding such
matters.
I have forwarded a copy r,f your letter a!id mine to the Mayor and
I can assure you that the Edmonds Fire L:epartment will continue to
strive towards the installation of water mains for tire protection
in all areas of t-he City of Edmonds.

I talked with one of your men earlier this summer since you were out
of the station at the time I came. I mentioned my concerns for wanting
your advice and was later called and asked.to put my concerns in writing.
My family is one of several who live on a private road called Maple Manor.
fmy address is 9211 Olympic View Drive; but, like my neighbors', my house.
is near the edge of,about a 100' bank on the narrow road toward the Sound
`from Olympic View Drive. Most of these homes have been here for more
,nan forty years and were originally summer cabins. Most have now been
extensively remodeled; and -my rebuilding plans are now with my builder. .
1 have had experience fighting forest fires in the High Sierra and glacier
..oak Wilderness Areas. When the fuel moisture drops, I can easily imagine
now quickly the 100' bank and houses above could "go."
here are NO fire hydrants on our road, and my water is often low pressure
and even colored.
A sewer is coming right through this area within the next few weeks. It
(seems to me that a water line in the same ditch would avoid duplication
