(RS-20) ADB-88-78 ADB-91-78 Mr. Kinderfather left the Chambers during this hearing as he is the architect for the development. Mrs. Luster indicated the development had been reduced to 10 units in a duplex type of configuration. Lanl- scaping requirements were exceeded. The elevations were the same as 11 Phase I. Mrs. Luster said the Staff felt all -wood fronts would be be: than the proposed facing of new used brick, that the facing was needle on what is a very nice looking building. MR. Mr. Kinderfather returned to the rostrum. FOODIIAKER, INC. - Building and design review of Jack -in -the -Box at the northwest corner of Highway 99 and 212th St. S.W. (CG) The applicant displayed a picture of the proposed building and noted there would be no clown at this Jack -in -the -Box. The picture reflected a.roofline treatment slightly different from that shown on the drawings and Mr. Kinderfather indicated a preference for that in the picture. He felt the architecture was excellent. There was some discussion regarding cprb cuts and egress and ingress, considering the traffic pattern at this location. The applicant indicated there would be a 5' concrete sidewalk on 212th which will be integrated with the landscaping. MR. SPANFELNER MOVED, SECONDED BY MR. SELVIDGE, TO APPROVE ADB-88-781 SUBJECT TO DRIVEWAYS, INGRESS, AND EGRESS BEING SATISFACTORY TO THE ENGINEERING DEPARTMENT. MOTION CARRIED. REID, MIDDLETON R ASSOCIATES - Review of landscaping and sign for service building at Dayton St. and Admiral Way (CW) firs. Luster said the proposed sign will be 30 sq. ft. in area and .will be on the building instead of on the fence. Mrs. Luster said the Staff had questioned why there was not more integration of different plants in planters 2.and 3 on the landscape plan. Chairman Wight stated the plant materials indicated should have a good chance of surviving. .The applicant said the plants would be maintained by the City. He said there are two service entrances and the plantings will help to direct pedestrian flow. Mrs. Luster said the proposed sign came close to the maximum signage and there may not be much left for a concession sign. Mr. LaTourelle commented that the sign is dictated by the Department of Fisheries. MR. SELVIDGE MOVED, SECONDED BY MR. CHRISTOFFERSON, TO APPROVE ADB-91-78. MOTION CARRIED. The applicant said part of the plan calls for existing plantings on the islands as you enter, but they had developed an alternate plan to include some flowering plum trees. The Board agreed the alternate plan would be desirable. { ADB-92-78 GORDON BOWERS - Review of cyclone fence at 7708 196th S.W. (RMH) Mrs. Luster said the Staff had suggested that planting around the fence would soften the appearance. The Engineering Department had not indicated any problem with the proposal. 11R. CHRISTOFFERSON HOVED, SECONDED BY MR. KINDERFATHER, TO APPROVE ADB-92-78, WITH THE CONDITION THAT A PLANTIIJG PLAN BE PROVIDED TO THE PLANNING DEPARTMENT WITH SOME KIND OF CLIMBING MATERIAL TO SOFTEN THE APPEARANCE OF THE FENCE..
