Mrs. Block noted that the Board had approved -the plans for this project.
in July and October of 1978 but the applicant then made some changes'
and had to come back for approval. In December when he came before the
Board he was asked for more detail and some design work on the east and
west elevations and attention to the site plan. The Staffs review
called attention to the fact that the structure was boxy in appearance,,
there were a number of window shapes, and there was a limited number of
materials. Traffic patterns were acceptable, and landscaping was not
a part of the review. MR. SPANFELNER MOVED TO APPROVE ADB-81-78 BECAUSE
.;.
THE ARCHITECTURAL CHANGES WERE i40T GREAT AS COMPARED TO THE PREVIOUSLY
APPROVED PLANS. MR. CHRISTOFFERSON SECONDED THE MOTION FOR DISCUSSION.
The applicant then reviewed the letter he had received Jrom the City
stating deficiencies, and he noted what he had done to ameliorate them.
He said .the color of the structure mould be driftwood with a darker.
grey trim. Mr. Mattson noted the project might not be as severe as it
looks with other buildings surrounding it. He said the east and west'
elevations were very stark but they would be partly covered by adjoining
buildings. THE.MOTION THEN CARRIED.

Mr. Kinderfather was excused and he left the Council Chambers. This
j project had been given preliminary approval. By a letter dated December 13,`
1978 the applicant submitted revised data, necessitated by inaccurate

! preliminary site and tree survey information. A total of eight evergreen
trees, 8" in diameter or greater, would be removed with a high probability

that two more will be removed at a later date. The original site plan
indicated that only two evergreens would be removed, and the increase'in
number was due to the difference in the original and final tree survey

information. Each removed evergreen will be replaced by a cedar and was
so indicated on the final revised site plan. Mrs. Block noted that more
trees would be planted than were proposed to be removed and the slight
f
relocation of the road would eliminate some of the cutting of the steep
bank for building 4. She recommended approval. Mr. Christofferson noted

that the plan shorted sensitivity for the topography. and tree ,cutting.
