01395r NIiIUTES OF EDMONDS CITY COUNCIL MELTING July 7, 1964 ROLL CALL ` Meeting was called to order by Mayor Maxwell with all councilmen present. APPROVAL OF MINUTE5 Minutes of the meeting of June 10 having been received by all councilmen, the Mayor asked for any additions or corrections. There were none, and the minutes were'de- glared approved as written. HEARING FINAL ASSESSMENT ROLL LID 4124' Hearing was held on the final assessment roll on LID ,�l124, paving of Laurels west from 101h to the culdesac. There were no protests, and a motion was made by Council- man Sorensen, seconded by Councilman Slye that Ordinance 1,1059 be passed, approving and confirming the _final assessment roll on LID f'12 . Motion carried. , CORRESPONDENCE r A letter was read .from Mr. Clark, 1036 Edmonds Street, commending the work crews -and the general handling of the Street Department of the City. ' -A letter was received from John C.,Vertrees, Attorney representing property, owner'sin Talbot Park, along with a petition of protest appealing to,the council to reject. the j Planning Commission acceptance of the preliminary plat for Talbot Park Estates. It 1 was stated for the record that under present ordinances, preliminary plats do not'. come before council. The council only acts on the final plat when all requirements have been met. A letter was received from the South County, Chamber of Commerceasking that:business zoning not be excluded from the waterfront. A. -letter written by Dr. Sandall. requested walkways be constructed along 9k' Ave. N. from Casper to Main. This was referred to the Street` Committee. i A drainage problem on Olympic View Drive, as outlined in a letter from Mrs. Joanne _Warner, was referred to Superintendent Moran for a'r' epo rt.to the Street Committee'. ` 'l 1 A letter from the L'dmonds Rod and Gun Club, requesting the use of Jims Boat House building on the waterfront park property north of the 'Ferry Dock for a rifle range was referred to the Park Board. AUDITING OF BILLS I e se that the Cit It was moved by Councilman Slye and seconded, by Councilman Christ n n y Clerk be authorized to issue the necessary warrants to pay the regular monthly bills. Motion carried. I A motion was made by Councilman Slye, seconded by Councilman Christensen that the bills against LID 11r`119 be paid: Tribune -Review, $222.96 and Roberts, Shefelman, Lawrence, Gay & Moch 'a466.00. Motion carried. It was moved by Councilman Slye, seconded by Councilman Christensen that contractor's iestimate #2 in the amount of S13002.50 be paid to Joplin Paving Co. on LID 1#123, ' paving of "B" Street and vicinity, and that the City Clerk be authorized to issue interest bearing warrants to Grande & Co., Inc. in this amount. Motion carried. Councilman Slye moved, seconded by Councilman Christensen that the bill against LID 7#1124 in the amount of $15.40 be paid to the Tribune -Review. Motion carried. i DISCUSSION OF CLARK, COLL•MAN, RUPEIKS BILL The bill from Clark, Coleman, Rupeiks for professional services in the amount of $3633.20 was brought up for discussion. Mr. Val Rupeiks was present, and explain
