Subsequently, in late January, 1979, building was commenced. Forms
for pouring the garage foundations were in place.,. virtually on 51' of
our property line.
A check with the Edmonds Building Department indicated no permit request,
was on file. As a result the City issued a stop work order. I. have drawn
a sketch of the area below.*

As I study this map it seems to me that buildings on or adjacent to
64%g (21-1/2' + 8' +5 1% of our 125' property line is an excessive.. density
for a residential area. The Zapara home is located at a considerable dis-
tance. from the proposed garage whereas our home is quite close to our east:
line. Having 51' of additional building added to the 29' already there, for
a total of 80' is not desirable from my family's standpoint.
I strongly object to any variance to the side yard which moves the garage
closer to our property line than provided in the code.
