However, per Edmonds Community Development Code (ECDC) 17.30.000.A, “Unless a variance is first obtained, no fence shall be more than six feet in height as measured from the top of the fence to the lowest original grade.” Therefore, please amend your submittal to show that the proposed fence will not exceed six feet in height over the lowest original grade in any location. Trellis: 2. It is unclear what the proposed total length of trellis(es) along the northern property line is. Per ECDC 17.30.035.C, “A trellis up to two additional feet in height to a maximum of eight feet may be added as a decorative element to a fence so long as the combined length of the trellis(es) constructed facing a property line do not exceed 25 percent of the total length of that property line.” In order to confirm compliance with this code requirement, please indicate the length of any existing trellis(es) along the northern property line on your site plan as well as the length of the proposed trellis(es) along the northern property line. Additionally, please show the entire property on your site plan and indicate the length of the northern property line so that the combined length of the trellis(es) along the northern property line can be calculated as a percentage of the length of that property line to ensure that the combined length of the trellis(es) will not exceed 25 percent. Please make all submittals to a Development Services Permit Coordinator, Monday through Friday, excluding Wednesdays between 8:00 am and 4:30 pm. If you have any questions, feel free to contact me at (425) 771-0220, ext. 1224. I look forward to working with you on this project. Sincerely, Development Services Department - Planning Division Jen Machuga Planner
