PCC RAINWATER HARVESTING SYSTEM
On behalf of the Planning Division, I have reviewed the above building permit
application. I have enclosed a copy of the interim zoning regulations for a rainwater
collection tank (Ordinance no. 3682), which should be useful. Please make the following
revisions, so that I can complete my review:
1.Height of Pad. The maximum height for the structure is 15 feet. Please revise
the elevation view to show the height of the pad. The height of the rain tower
should be measured from finished grade which would typically be interpreted as
the ground below the pad. If the pad is only 1-2 inches, the pad height may not be
an issue.
2.Setback Area Calculations. Please submit a site plan, delineating the entire

property frontage along 9 Avenue. Specifically identify the setback area (length
th
x width) along 9 Avenue. The required setback width is 20 feet.
3.Educational Components. Please refer to Edmonds Community Development
Code 21.90.140B4 on page 3 of ordinance 3682.Please provide a response to this
code requirement and identify how the project will comply with the regulation.
For example, if there will be a plaque on the tower, provide a copy of it, colors,
font size, etc. Will there be an obvious path through the landscaping, so that
citizens can walk up to it? Will there be educational materials available in the
store? Etc.
You may red-line the existing plans or submit new copies. Make all submittals to a
Development Services Permit Coordinator, Monday, Tuesday, Thursday or Friday, 8:00
