During review of the response to the 1-9-09 City building plan review letter for the above noted
project, it was found that the following information, clarifications or changes are needed. Please
provide written responses as to where the changes can be found on the plans, and submit revised
plans/documents to a Permit Coordinator. The reference numbers are to the original comment letter,
and the comments received from the designer received on 4/13/2009.
1.Engineer of record (EOR) to provide the lateral calculations for the first level walls that are
impacted by the addition second floor loads imposed.

3.Could not locate calculations for interior footing. Need point load calculations to determine if
18 diameter footing is adequate to support the gravity load.

6.Identify the materials for the waterproofing of the deck. Include slope and attachment
requirements.
7.Provide manufacturers specifications for proposed railing system, to determine code
compliance. The added note doesnt provide the detail necessary to know how the proposed
3/8 bolts attach the wrought iron railing system to the wood frame, and how it will be
waterproofed.
8.The HD5A holdowns are new. EOR to identify the bolt requirements, rod diameter, depth of
embedment, type of epoxy.
