During review of the plans for the above noted project, it was found that the following information,
clarifications or changes are needed. Please provide written responses as to where the changes can
be found on the plans, and submit revised plans/documents to a Permit Coordinator.
1.Provide lateral calculations for roof and deck
2.Identify if ceiling joists will be used or not used. If ceiling joists are proposed
a.Will it be enclosed, and with what material?
b.How will it meet ventilation requirements?
3.Beams:
a.Identify specific beam locations of beams in the calculation package
b.The beam calcs call for a 4x14 DFL beam, which is not identified on the plans. The
plans and calcs need to match.
c.The deck beams will be required to be pressure preservative treated due to the wind
blown rain. If the species of the wood will change to Hem-Fir (the most readily
available PT wood), the beam calcs will need to reflect this.
4.Provide guard requirement details. Species, grade, size of members and connection details.
5.Identify decking materials and method of attachment
6.The joists will need to be pressure preservative treated and should be so noted on the plans
7.Rotation blocking between joists at beam should be noted on plans
