During a review of the plans by the Building Division for compliance with the applicable building codes, it was found that the following information, clarifications, or changes are needed. Reviews by other divisions, such as Planning, Engineering, or Fire, may result in additional comments that require attention beyond the scope of this letter. A complete review cannot be performed until the revised plans/documents, including a written response in itemized letter format indicating where the `clouded' or otherwise highlighted changes can be found on the revised plans, have been submitted to a Permit Coordinator. Only those sheets specifically referenced as follows need to be resubmitted. Resubmittals must be made at the Development Services Department on the 2nd Floor of City Hall. Permit Center hours are M, T, Th, & F from 8am-4:30pm and from 8:30am-12pm on Wednesdays. On the provided `Mech'1 Curb' detail prepared by Coffman Engineers: 1. Provide as part of a complete permit application submittal a sealed/stamped detail that has been signed and dated by the registered design professional as required per Revised Code of Washington (RCW) 18.43.070 and Washington Administrative Code (WAC) 196-23-020. On sheet M-2 — HVAC Schedules — Details: 2. On the mechanical equipment attachment detail in the upper right-hand corner of the sheet: a. Specify on the plans the minimum required attachment of the mechanical curb to the roof framing to resist lateral loads per American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) 7-16, Chapter 13. The provided `Mech'1 Curb' detail prepared by Coffman Engineers appears to address the concern, but needs to be incorporated onto the plan sheet to guide proper construction and inspection. b. Clarify on the plans the difference in the indicated type and number of fasteners to be used to attach the equipment to the `curb' and of that specified on the provided `Mech'1 Curb' detail prepared by Coffman Engineers. General plan review comment: 3. The structural elements required to be altered and/or added to the roof framing to support the mechanical equipment that are represented on the provided `Mech'1 Curb' detail prepared by Coffman Engineers must be added as a revision to the plans for permit BLD2019-0088.
