During review of the plans for the above noted project, it was found that the following information,
clarifications or changes are needed. Please provide written responses as to where the changes can
be found on the plans, and submit revised plans/documents to a Permit Coordinator.
1.Water heater to be relocated:
a.Provide a pan underneath with a drain.
b.Provide a Temperature and pressure relief valve.
c.Both T&P valve and pan drains are required to terminate at an approved location,
like a floor drain. Identify these locations, e.g. floor drain, mop sink, etc
d.Seismic straps are required.
e.Source of energy-gas or electric. If gas, how is it vented and how is it getting
combustion air?
2.Piping:
a.Size of drain and vents being connected to.
b.Size of drains and vent being installed.
c.Size of water lines, e.g. ½ or ¾
d.Size of vents
3.Condensing Dryer:
a.Will the unit be connected to a drain or manually emptied of condensate?
4.Laundry room:
a.The Washington State Ventilation and Indoor Air Quality Code requires that source
specific mechanical ventilation be provided in laundry rooms, VIAQ302.2.1. Section
302.1.1 allows compliance by calculations or testing, but would need to be done
through engineering calculations or performance testing in accordance with
recognized test methods.
b.Indicate the door location and size.
