During review of the plans for the above noted project, it was found that the following information,
clarifications or changes are needed. Please provide written responses as to where the changes can
be found on the plans, and submit revised plans/documents to a Permit Coordinator.
1.Indicate the concrete footing size and depth and any proposed reinforcement. One of the
footings appears to be supporting a point load of approximately 3.5kps
2.Indicate the lengths of each column, from the top of concrete to the bottom of heavy duty I-
beam. Highlight the appropriate line in the Installation Guide Design Manual applicable to the
particular columns. The allowable axial loads and column spacing appear to be exceeded due to
the apparent height of the columns and the slenderness ratio. The column spacing also appears
to be exceeded.
3.Provide a detail for the beam attached to, or inset into the existing homes exterior wall at three
locations. Show how the roof loads will be transferred to the existing footings with solid
structural members.
4.Provide connection and step flashing details for the sloped portion of the patio cover at the side
of the house.
