Email: timheyes@signassociates.com RE: PLAN REVIEW COMMENTSFOR PLANCHECK #BLD20140898 JACOBSEN’S MARINESIGNLOCATED AT 345 ADMIRAL WAY Dear Mr. Heyes: I have reviewed the above building permit applicationfor the Planning Division,and it was found that the following information, corrections, or clarifications will need to be addressedbefore review can continue: Proposed Sign Area: 1.The maximum allowed total sign area for the siteis equivalentto one square foot perlineal foot of wallcontaining the main public entrance. Based on the dimensions indicated on the site planand confirmed with the building plans for the new building (BLD20131338), this would yield a maximum total sign area for the siteof 92square feet. The proposed sign area, however, is stated on the plans as 97.5 square feet, which exceeds the maximum allowed sign area. Sincethe proposed sign is comprised of individually mounted channel letters, you may calculate the area of each letter individually, which will likely cause the proposed sign area to fall below the maximum allowed.Please revise the sign area calculations in order to showthat the proposed sign will not exceed the maximum allowed sign areaof 92 square feet. This calculation will also assist the business owner in determining how much additional sign area is availableif they choose to add another sign in the future. Illumination: 2.The plans state that the faces of the letters are opaque and will be halo illuminated. It is assumed that the same method of illumination is proposed for the wheel; however, please confirm if this is the case. Sign Height: 3.Please indicate the height of the proposed signon the elevation view. Please submit three copies of your revisedplan sheetsto a Development Services Permit Coordinator.
