You have changed house plans (to a manufactured home) and the site plan and building footprint are different that what the original geotechnical engineer had reviewed. Page 6 of the Nelson Geotechnical Report (File No. 393604) dated May 26, 2004 states: “The proposed building setback of 35 feet from the top of the steep slope on the western lot could be reduced to 25 feet, if desired, without impacting slope stability.” The current site plan shows the proposed building at, in some areas, closer than 20 feet from the top of the slope (labeled TOS on your site plan). We would just need to have a Geotechnical Engineer review the current plans (which are different than what they had originally reviewed) and make a statement/recommendation on the safety of the type of foundations proposed and the safety of the project, as well as a review of the setbacks and the recommendations of your previous Geotechnical Report. I had heard that you were planning on submitting an updated report from “Associated Earth Sciences” (?) – if you have this report, please turn it in for us to review with your building permit application.
