During re -review of the above noted application, it was found that the following information, corrections, or clarifications are needed. Please redline plans or submit two (2) sets of revised plans/documents (affected sheets only) with a written response to each of the items below to a Permit Coordinator. 1) ok 2) Detail submitted shows pier block on top of poured concrete footing. This still does not meet conventional construction. Provide calculations stamped and signed by a Washington State Licensed Professional Engineer or replace with conventional poured footings. Pier block footings do not meet conventional construction. Provide poured footings (specify size and depth) or provide calculations stamped and signed by a Washington State Licensed Professional Engineer. 3) Add engineers post and beam information including nailing to the framing plans. By my calculations the 4x8 beams are over spanned. Add additional posts and footings to reduce span to maximum of 5' (2 additional posts) or provide calculations from Washington State Licensed Professional Engineer to justify beam. 4) The L portion of the deck appears to be at the same height and framing plans are. required. Please add to framing plans. Specify if hot tub is supported on the lower deck. If so, a permit is required for the lower deck as well. Provide complete framing plans and specify galong capacity of hot tub to verify framing is adequate to support hot tub. Specify how small deck at the L portion will be supported (i.e. is there another beam there?). 5) Need calculations. I was unable to locate ledger calculations in Engineer's packet that was submitted. Provide single ledger to existing rim joists at the house with 318" x 4'/2" lag bolts at 4" o.c. or if double ledger is used provide calculations stamped and signed by a Washington " State Licensed Professional Engineer to justify lag bolt size and spacing.
