During re -review of the above noted application, it was found that the following information,
corrections, or clarifications are needed. Please redline plans or submit two (2) sets of revised
plans/documents (affected sheets only) with a written response to each of the items below to a
Permit Coordinator.

5) Because the existing carport support (posts and beams) are being replaced with double top
plate and 2x4 walls, the roof framing must meet current code. As shown on the plans the
rafters are over spanned, ridge is undersized and must be designed as a beam. Either I.
Revise roof framing to meet conventional construction, 2. Provide calculations stamped and
signed by a Washington State Licensed Professional Engineer to support existing framing or
3. Keep all existing carport supports (posts and beams) and just fill in wall to retain existing
structural support -no structural changes to the existing building. Provide complete existing
roof framing plan showing ridge, rafter size and spacing, existing carport postsibeams etc. to
check spans and verify header loads.
