Please redline plans or submit two (2) sets of revised plans/documents (affected sheets only) with a written response to each of the items below to a Permit Coordinator. 1) Maximum ledger lag bolt size and spacing for lower deck is 3/8" x 4 %Z" @ 4" o.c.. Please specify 2x12 ledger attachment to existing house and Engineer of Record to provide calculation if different that above maximum. Also clarify how deck will be supported at the existing deck where there is no ledger attached to the house. 2) For the lower deck, Engineer of Record to provide calculation for 2x10 beam with point load from angled 4x8 beam. Also provide calculation for opposite end of 4x8 supported by cantilevered beam ends and specify hanger or connector at this end. 3) On the framing plan show the stair location between levels as wells as landings at top and bottom of each stairway. 4) Engineer of Record provide calculation to justify beams hanging from posts as shown in section AA. This is non -conventional. 5) . Engineer of Record provide calculation for 4x12 ledger on upper deck with point load from 4x12 beam hanging off as well as specifying bolt size and spacing with calculations to justify. Provide connection detail to show how ledger is attached to the existing house (bolt size and spacing, what it's attached to, etc.). 6) Provide general framing for existing upper deck and Engineer of Record to provide calculation for 2x12 ledger attachment sistered to existing deck framing.
