During re -review of the plans for the above noted project, it was found that the following information,
clarifications or changes are needed. Provide written responses to each comment and where changes can be
found on the plans. Submit revised plans/documents to Theresa Umbaugh, Permit Coordinator.
I . Revised plans correctly show new and existing corridor walls extending to the 1 -hour floor -ceiling
above, however it appears from the reflected ceiling plan that the area above the suspended ceiling in the
corridor is being used as a return air plenum, which is not permitted except as noted in IBC 1016.4.1. If
found to be an issue, this could become a costly field correction, therefore it must be addressed at this
time. Please provide a mechanical plan showing supply and return locations from origin at mechanical
units, ductwork layout throughout suites and corridor, area(s) of plenums, etc. Plans must clearly show
that required ventilation (supply and return) is being provided to each occupiable space within each
suite, that the corridor is not being used as a plenum. If additional alterations must be made to the
system, see enclosed handout for submittal requirements. (continuation of issue raised in previous item
4)
2. Provide general locking device information for exit doors on the door schedule. Doors 4 and 16 cannot
have locking devices of any kind. (previous item 8)
3. Revise door 4 to meet accessible maneuvering distance as shown on 4IG0.1. (previous item 17)
4. On Sheet A4.1, please add emergency lighting at stair landing side of door 5. (previous item 14)
5. On Sheet A4.1, please add exit sign over corridor side of door 5, on south wall to the east of door 6 with
arrow, and over door 7. (previous item 15)
