Please redline plans or submit two (2) sets of revised plans/documents (affected sheets only) with a written response to each of the items below to a Permit Coordinator. 1) Please add the following information to the site plan. • Show all rockeries, retaining walls, etc. on the site plan. ■ Show topography lines at 5' intervals ■ Site plan submitted appears to be for the previous addition. Please take off notes for proposed addition and label existing deck to be replaced to clearly show what work is covered under this permit. You may redline plans or resubmit three (3) new site plans scaled no smaller than 1"-20' and one on paper no larger than 8 %z" x 14". 2) Minimum ledger lag bolt attachment is 3/8" x 41/Z" @ 3" o.c. Revise plan to meet minimum or provide calculations from a Washington State Licensed Professional Engineer. 3) On the deck floor plan show location of all footings. If using existing footings specify size (minimum 12" x 12" x 12" poured concrete footings). 4) On the deck floor plan add a North arrow so it is clear which elevation view goes with what deck section. 5) Please clarify what is supporting the small 2' x 12" portion of the deck. To meet conventional construction posts and beams would be required in this area. If this is not the case provide calculations stamped and signed by a Washington State Licensed Professional Engineer. 6) Proposed deck addition hanging off cantilevered joists does not meet conventional construction. Add additional beam, posts and footings for this location or provide calculations stamped and signed by a Washington State Licensed Professional Engineer to justify. 7) Please clarify on the South elevation exactly where the grade is and rocks or rockery in relation to the footings. Please clearly show the line and include dimensions. 8) A Geotechnical Engineer is required to review proposed footings in relation to slopes/rockeries on site and provide a letter, stamped and signed, with foundation recommendations.
