During re -review of the above noted application, it was found that the following information,
corrections, or clarifications are needed. Please redline plans or submit two (2) sets of revised
plans/documents (affected sheets only) with a written response to each of the items below to a
Permit Coordinator.

3) 3/7/08 Please clarify how the joists are supported. Plans note existing columns but is there a
beam between the columns. Please clearly show on the plans how the deck is supported at this
location. Show what the joists are sitting on and how they are connected.
4) 3/7/08 Still Need. Provide a section detail through the deck and house.
5) 3/7/08 New. Per Table R502.3.3(2) Maximum cantilever for 2x10 joists at 16" o.c. is 53" with
2:1 back span. Cantilever on the plans exceeds this. Either revise plans for maximum 53"
cantilever or provide calculations to justify.
6) 3/7/08 New. Specify decking material and note all wood exposed to weather must be pressure
treated.
