During review of the above noted application, it was found that the following information, corrections, or clarifications are needed. Please redline plans or submit two (2) sets of revised plans/documents (affected sheets only) with a written response to each of the items below to a Permit Coordinator. 1) ok 2) 3/12/08 Please show stairs on the lower deck to show where they come in and how they are supported at this level. It is unclear to me how the upper landing and the lower deck are laid out. Please clearly show stars and if possible put both landings on the same page to see how they overlap or connect. 3) 3/12/08 Provide beam calculation for double 2x6 beam on the lower deck with a 2' overhang. Joists sistered to the side of the posts does not meet conventional construction. To meet conventional construction show beam on top of post or provide calculations from a Washington State Licensed Professional Engineer to justify. 4) 3/12/08 Provide beam calculation for double 2x6 beams supporting stair stringers. Also show stair stringers on the middle landing framing plan. For the upper floor landing it is not clear how all loads are supported. The double joists are running the same direction as the floor joists. Please clearly show all posts and beams to verify spans and that all loads are being carried to bearing. 5) 3/12/08 because the deck is not attached to the house provide lateral calculations stamped and signed by a Washington State Licensed Engineer. How will the deck be supported at the house? If ledger show size, as well as fastener type, size and spacing. 6) 3/12/08 Pier Blocks are still shown on the plans. Revise or provide calculations to justifyl Pier blocks do not meet conventional construction. Replace with poured concrete footings or provide, calculations from a Washington State Licensed Professional Engineer to justify. 7) ok
