During review of the plans for the above noted project, it was found that the following information,
clarifications or changes are needed. Please provide written responses as to where the changes can
be found on the plans, and submit revised plans/documents to a Permit Coordinator. If you choose,
the alterations to the plans may be made in person by visiting our office. Thank you.
1.Please have the engineer of record sign the S pages of the plans.
2.The structural calcs state to verify existing exterior walls are sheathed with plywood and nailed
with 8d nails @ 6 inches o.c. and edges blocked. Please add this note to the plans.
3.Please clarify the approach to be used for whole house ventilation.
a.Since the VIAQ is no longer adopted by the state, please design by, and use
references to section M1508 of the IRC.
b.Show the location of the furnace on the plans and indicate the type and size of
supply fan (per M1508.6) or integrated air intake (M1508.5) to be used. Be aware
that neither of these approaches utilizes an exhaust fan in the system.
4.Please show smoke alarms in the existing bedrooms, the hallway serving the bedrooms, and one
on the lower floor level. R314.3.
