During review of the plans for the above noted project, it was found that the following information,
clarifications or changes are needed. Please provide written responses as to where the changes can
be found on the plans, and submit revised plans/documents to Marie Harrison, Senior Permit
Coordinator. Thank you.
1.The heating capacity of the new Reznor units in the work area establishes a fully conditioned
space by definition in the Washington State Energy Code. (Semi-heated spaces are limited to
8 BTU/sf.) Alterations of this type trigger requirements for the envelope (wall and ceiling
insulation, etc.) to be brought into full compliance with the energy code. Either reduce the
heating capacity to the space to 8 BTU/sf and provide controls described in the exception of
Section 1310.2, or coordinate with the architect or contractor to provide the necessary
upgrades to the buildings thermal envelope. WSEC 101.3.2.4 and 1310
