At the request of your contractor Mr. Darrald Carey, Mr. William Chang from GEO
Group Northwest, Inc., visited the subject site between January 12 and February 7,
2012 to perform geotechnical construction monitoring of the 16 foot tall geogrid
reinforced cement block wall.
Items inspected during our site visits, included: a) erosion control fence, b) drainage
spreader trench, c) foundation subgrade for the wall, d) foundation drainage measures
including filter fabric placement, perforated drain pipe and crushed rock backfill
placement, e), f) retaining wall construction with geogrid reinforcement and crushed
rock backfill, g) final wall inspection.
Based on our site visits on 1/12/12, 1/23/12, and 2/7/12, we have concluded that the
construction of the geogrid reinforced cement block wall is in accordance with the City
of Edmonds approved plans.
