Please provide written responses as to where the changes can be found on the plans, cloud all changes on the revised plans, and submit the revised plans/documents to a Permit Coordinator. Thank you. On page A3: 1.Provide a callout for ‘Detail 2’ on page G1 for the continuous footings/foundations to guide proper construction and inspection. On pages A3 and A4: 2.Clarify the callout for ‘P1-6’ shear walls along the braced wall line ‘C’ on level 1 – the north exterior wall of the ‘Guest Bedroom/Office’. The provided structural calculations indicate ‘P1-4’ shear walls at this location. On page A4: 3.Provide or relocate the required carbon monoxide alarm to the area just outside of the ‘Guest Bedroom/Office’ per R315.1. 4.The 150 cfm ‘Whole House Fan’ in the laundry meets the requirement for continuous use – 75 cfm continuous for whole house per Table M1508.2 plus 20 cfm continuous for the source specific laundry exhaust per Table M1507.3. If operated intermittently (assuming 1 hour of operation every 2 hours) a 200 cfm fan will be required – 150 cfm for whole house plus 50 cfm for the laundry. 5.Clarify the callout for ‘B-3’ - #2 Doug-fir 4x10 –The roof load does not appear to have been accounted for in the beam calculations and it is over-spanned. On page A5: 6.Provide the required safety glazing for the 20x20 window in the closet of ‘Bedroom #3’ per R308.4.2. Structural Calculations: 7.Clarify the braced wall length along braced wall line ‘B’ on level 2 – the north exterior wall of the stairwell. The windows reduce the wall length to about 6.5 feet, affecting both shear and overturning. Often a ‘Force Transfer Around Opening(s)’ or ‘Perforated Shear Wall’ solution will allow the full wall length to be utilized. 8.Clarify the braced wall lengths along braced wall line ‘C’ on level 2 – the north exterior wall of ‘Bedroom #3’. The windows reduce the wall lengths to about 3.3 feet each, affecting both shear and overturning. Often a ‘Force Transfer Around Opening(s)’ or ‘Perforated Shear Wall’ solution will allow the full wall lengths to be utilized. Page 2 of 2
