During a review of the plans for the above noted project, it was found that the following
information, clarifications or changes are needed. Please provide written responses as to where the
changes can be found on the plans, cloud all changes on the revised plans, and submit the revised
plans/documents to a Permit Coordinator. Thank you.
On page A-2:
1.Provide the required handrail for four or more stair risers per R311.7.7.
On page A-3:
2.Indicate the post base required to connect the 6x6 post to the concrete footing to withstand
lateral, uplift, and gravity loads per R301.1, R407.3 and R802.11.1. A Simpson APS
standoff base could not be found in the manufacturers product listing.
3.Indicate the required connection of the 4x8 beams to the 6x6 posts to withstand lateral,
uplift, and gravity loads per R301.1 and R802.11.1.
4.Indicate the required connection of the 2x10 rafters to the 4x8 beams to withstand uplift
loads per R301.1 and R802.11.1.
5.Provide the required ceiling joists, rafter ties, or a ridge support to resist rafter thrust due to
roof loads per R802.3.
6.Provide specifications on the Polycarbonate Roof Panels to be used as a roof covering and
the means of attachment required to resist the component and cladding loads specified in
Table R301.2(2).
