Project Address: 1040 C. Avenue S.
During a review of the plans by the Building Division for the above noted project, it was found that
the following information, clarifications, or changes are needed. A complete review cannot be
performed until the revised plans/documents, including a written response indicating where the
clouded or otherwise highlighted changes can be found on the revised plans, have been submitted
to a Permit Coordinator. Reviews by other divisions, such as Planning, Engineering, or Fire, may
result in additional comments.
Structural Comments
1.It appears that the 4x12 HF#2 deck beam is overstressed in bending and exceeds the
allowable length to deflection ratio. The beam was checked at 14 span with 2 cantilevers
at each end. Please upsize the beam or provide calculations supporting the beam selected.
2.Please specify the dimensions between posts for each length of deck beam to help guide
proper review and inspection.
3.Page 2/5 has a note referring to beam calculations, yet no beam calculations were provided.
Please clarify.
