Attached are the revised construction documents for the above referenced project. We have
made revisions to the drawings in accordance with your correction notice dated January 22,
2015. Specifically our response comments are as follows:
All notes from the "sketch and calc." packet'have been added to the construction
documents.
2. The deck lateral connections are indicate on the drawings at the deck setback areas( 2 on
the upper floor and 3 on the lower floor). The deck ties consist of lapping a deck joist to
floor rims and securing the joist with (2) 16d @ 8" and 1/4"dia x 3 1/2 SDS screws@16" (in
lieu of holdown style tension tie shown in R507.2.3). See Detail D/3.The tension
capacity is in excess 1500 lbs each.
3. The minimum footing sizes are indicated on lower floor framing sheet 2.
4: Ledger connection details have been added, details D & E/3.
5a. The Upper Floor framing existing 6 x8 has been upgraded to span the 13+ feet with a
continuous E -Beam HD "EBD -1000S162-54". See the attached calculation.
5b. The Lower Floor framing existing 6 x8 will supported by an new column at mid -span.
Reducing the span to 6+ feet. See the attached calculations.
I believe that this resolves all of your concerns, which are necessary to complete the plan review.
