1. Reference sheet G-0001: The original approved project plans were designed under the 2009 codes.
The revised plans reference the 2012 codes, and as such, this review has been performed assuming
the 2012 codes govern the design. Please confirm that this is your desire and intent.

2. Reference sheet G-0001: Construction type 11-B is called out on this sheet. Combustible materials
are not allowed in type 11-B unless noted in the exceptions in IBC 602.2. On sheet S.001 the
Shearwall notes specify non fire rated sheathing which is not allowed. Please revise the plans as
needed tujustify the materials proposed inthe design.

The following is a response to the plan review comments in the letter dated 11/7/2014. Plan
review questions are in italics, with our response in plain text. Responses to unreferenced
comments are by others.
2. Reference sheet G-0001: Construction type 11-B is called out on this sheet.
Combustible materials are not allowed in type 11-B unless noted in the exceptions in IBC
602.2. On sheet S.001 the Shearwall notes specify non fire rated sheathing which is not
allowed. Please revise the plans as needed to justify the materials proposed in the
design.
The shearwall notes on sheet 5.001 have been updated to reflect the usage of fire
retardant treated wood sheathing.
6. Reference sheet A-5001: Please provide calculations and design details for the seismic
anchorage of rooftop equipment weighing more than 400 lbs. (RTU -1 and RTU -2) The
documents must be stamped and signed by a Washington state licensed engineer.

Detailing for RTUA and RTU -2 is shown in details 8, 9 & 10/S-004. Additional
calculations supporting the previously shown connection details are included in this
submittal.
