During review of the plans for the above noted project, it was found that the following information,
clarifications or changes are needed. Please provide written responses as to where the changes can be found
on the plans, and submit revised plans/documents to a permit coordinator in the Development Services
Department. Thank you.
1.Please indicate on the plans that the proposed building is a factory built structure and will be
appropriately labeled with L&I approval.
2.Due to the fire separation distance between the existing building and the proposed portable classroom,
it appears the south wall of the portable needs to be 1 hour fire rated (as will be the near wall of the
existing building) per IBC 705.5 and Table 602. Openings are limited in these walls as per IBC 705.8.
Please show how the proposed configuration meets these code sections, and make any necessary
changes to the plans.
3.Please provide an occupant load for the new classroom. IBC 1004
4.On sheet A2.1 the insulation notes call for R42 in the ceiling. The minimum requirement per WSEC
Table C402.2 is R49.
5.Please demonstrate how the unvented rafter bay assembly as shown on the plans meets the exceptions
to roof ventilation as in IBC 1203.2 (WS amendments).
