During a review of the plans by the Building Division for the above noted project, it was found that
the following information, clarifications, or changes are needed. A complete review cannot be
performed until the revised plans/documents, including a written response indicating where the
clouded or otherwise highlighted changes can be found on the revised plans, have been submitted
to a Permit Coordinator. Reviews by other divisions, such as Planning, Engineering, or Fire, may
result in additional comments.
1.Please provide the framing configuration of the existing portion of the roof. It appears from
the elevation that the existing roof is stick framed with beams running front to back and
rafters running side to side, potentially resulting in a point load on the new beam L-01.
2.Beam L-03 appears to be missing some loads. That beam appears to be supporting floor,
low roof, wall and upper roof.
3.Beam L-04 should be reevaluated per the results of comment 2 above.
4.Joist L-06 appears to be missing a point load at the cantilevered end that would result from
the wall/roof load above. In addition, the plans show a backspan of 8 and the calculations
show a backspan of 12. Please revise.
5.It appears that a header is missing across the hallway in line with the existing exterior wall.
Please advise.
