Our structural -only review of the permit application materials & drawings is now complete. The following
items should be noted as Conditions of Permit Approval:
• The following items are required to be submitted as Deferred Submittals to this permit:
o Steel Stairs/Prefabricated Stairs (reference 52.2)
o Glazing system and connection to main building
The Elctr of Record EOR shall be responsible for reviewing design drawings and calculations for
compliance with the design criteria and compatibility with the design of the primary structure, including
review of all connections to the primary structure. The EOR shall review the submittal prior to providing it
to the City for review. The submitted documents shall bear the shop drawing stamp of the EOR.
The specialty Structural Err ineer SSE shall provide drawings and calculations for the deferred design
submittal to the EOR for review. Design shall conform to loading & deflection criteria as required by
the 2012 IBC. Drawings and calculations for deferred submittals shall be designed by a structural/civil
engineer licensed in the state of Washington. Deferred submittals shall be stamped/signed by the SSE
and shall include all material requirements and manufacturer literature.
• Special inspections are required on this project as specified within the structural drawings:
concrete, reinforcing steel, and steel fabrication & erection, post -installed anchors. Reference the
Structural General Notes.
• Geotechnical inspections are required as recommended by the geotechnical engineer for the
installation of deep foundation elements (piles), excavation, soil conditions, fill placement, density,
drainage, etc. PanGEO is required to be present on a full time basis during the driving of all piles
and the load testing of selected piles to confirm the driving criteria used for the installations and
also to confirm that all driven piles meet the requirements of the structural drawings (p. 4).
