Your review comments (in italics) and our corresponding responses are shown below. Revisions complying with your comments have been incorporated into the construction plan sheets. Demolition and Erosion Control Plan: There are no erosion control measures around the sawcut areas. Please provide direction on how to protect the walkway and/or the water from sawcutting debris. Filtration silt socks will be provided along the downstream edge of the pavement disturbance area and along the promenade to prevent debris from entering the walkway and water body. 2. Add erosion control standard details consistent with City of Edmonds details when applicable to plans. The catch basin filter detail (Detail E1.3) has been added to sheet C4.0. Street trees are required along Admiral Way. Please re-route the sewer to avoid removal of the existing tree. It may be necessary to direct connect to the sewer main. The proposed sewer alignment is directed between two existing trees along Admiral Way. The sewer trench should not interfere with the existing trees. Construction note #4 has been added to protect trees during installation of the sewer line. 4. Please show an 8" cleanout at the property line. The clean out shall have a 12" cast iron lamphole cover with 1/2" hexbolts. Provide rim/invert. An 8" cleanout has been added at the right-of-way line. The cleanout reference in the legend references the standard City detail shown on sheet C4.0 that includes the 12" lamphole and hexbolts verbiage. Rim and invert elevations for the cleanout have been added. 5. Sewer lateral shall be 8" PVC. Please label. Due to the shallow bury of the sewer pipe, a portion of the sewer pipe will be ductile iron. The remaining portion of the sewer pipe will be PVC and has been noted on the plans. 6. Not required: If no other considerations, a suggestion that less expensive PVC be used for the sewer on site as long as 1.5 feet of cover from top of pipe is attainable. Comment is understood. See response to #5 above. 7. The Cheyenne connection of the water service line is to a city public main. Please label the water main and note size, 8" CI. A new service from the main is required to be metered. Show location of new meter and call out size. A new meter has been added for connection to the public water main and will be located a maximum 5 feet from the water main connection. The existing main has been labeled with 8" CI notation. 11eid' iddlett Ms. JoAnne Zulauf City of Edmonds, Engineering October 27, 2015 File No. 242014.013 Page 3 Taos Restroom 8. If the Taos is using the existing water service connection and not tapping the main, please label wsl as existing and call out size/material. If tapping the main, show the full length of the new wsl and the location where the tap will be and show new meter. A new meter and tapping location have been added and the existing water main has been noted. The meter is located a maximum 5 feet from the water main connection. R Please label the new sewer cleanout referenced by note 45 as 6" with a 12" cast iron lamphole cover with 1/2" hexbolts. Cleanouts have been referenced to the standard City detail on sheet C4.0. The size has been added to the plan sheet. 10. Please remove standard details and replace with City of Edmonds standard details. All our Standard Details are available on our website at edmondswa. com. Include standards for sidewalk, trenching, water and sewer service lines. Also include the City's sewer manhole channeling detail if it is determined that a connection will still be made to the manhole in Admiral Way. The City of Edmonds standard details have been added to sheet C4.0 that include E1.3, E2.3, E2.8, E2.10, E2.13, E4.2, E6.1, E6.2, E6.4, E7.6.1. Some of the details have been modified to include items applicable to this project. If you have any questions or concerns while reviewing the documents, please call me at (425) 741-3800.
