Enclosed is a third sieve analysis for the proposed infiltration system design. This
information is to meet the request made in am Email by the city on the 1 st of June 2016.
The new sieve testing was done from a new sample removed from the site about 10 feet
northeast of Soil Log # 2 on the 6th of June 2016 and was tested by Mays Testing
Engineers Inc. This was done with percentages of silts and clay also shown as requested
by the city.
Attached are a copy of the Mays Sieve Analysis and the Textural Triangle USDA. The
percentages of SAND, SILT and CLAY have been calculated and noted on the Textural
page. Plotting of the sample notes that it is very close to the line dividing the Sand and
Loamy Sand classifications. The design is based upon Loamy Sand infiltration rate which
is the more conservative design rate.
Two copies all the new information are enclosed.
