THE FOLLOWING WAS NOTED:
Associated Earth Sciences, Inc. (AESI) was on site for geotechnical observation and testing. On arrival we met with Steve Krassner.

Prior to AESI's arrival, the contractor had removed a tree stump from the west side of the 841h Avenue West right of way. The City of
Edmonds required that the excavation be backfilled with crushed rock and paved with asphalt. The excavation measured
approximately 10 feet wide by 14 feet long by 3 feet deep. The native silty sand in the floor had been bucket -tamped. While we
were on site the contractor backfilled the excavation with 1-1/4" crushed rock prepared for road base. The material was placed in
lifts of approximately 6" and compacted after every lift with a jumping jack until it was firm and unyielding. AESI used a portable
nuclear density gauge to take tests during the process. Test results are shown in the table below. The paving contractor will place a
layer of 5/8" crushed rock over the base course before paving. Paving is scheduled for tomorrow (October 5).
