Our response appears in bold. 1. The architectural plans show a bathroom within the garage structure. Revise civil plans to show location of water, sewer and power utilities serving the garage. It is thought that these services are being tied off from the existing residence, but they were not shown in the survey or utility locate. We have added a note indicating that the contractor should field locate and report to CG Engineering and City of Edmonds. 2. The existing western driveway and curb cut has not been approved and is required to be removed per WSDOT. Revise plans as follows: a. Indicate removal of the driveway curb cut and replacement with standard curb/gutter and sidewalk. Include appropriate standard details. b. Indicate removal of the existing western asphalt drive. c. Update impervious surface calculations accordingly. Plans updated as noted 3. WSDOT has also indicated in past correspondence that a chain link fence previously removed for the construction of the driveway shall be replaced. Any deviation from this requirement should be approved by WSDOT. 6' fence added, see C3.1 plan 4. Is the impervious surface area from the existing driveway included in the impervious surface calculations? If so, how will the flows be captured and directed to the storm system? 250 4th Avenue South, Suite 200 Edmonds, WA 98020 ph.425.778.8500 1 f.425.778.5536 www.cgengineering.com Miller Residence 16211.20 January 12, 2017 Comment Response #1 Page 2 of 2 Slope arrows and an additional yard drain added. Portions of existing brick from previous submittal have been replaced 5. Revise Plan Notes, Note 1 as needed to be consistent with comment number 2 above. Plan notes revised. 6. Clearly indicate on the plans that the "area drains" called out will be constructed as depicted in Detail 2 — Roof Runoff Infiltration Trench. Callout driveway slope on the plans. Approval was previously given by the City to allow for a slope in excess of 14% and up to 20%. Slope is 13.3% and is now indicated on the C3.1 plan. 7. Revise both infiltration trench details to indicate 1 %" —1 %" (preferably 1'/" — 2 %") instead of 1 %" — %" washed rock. Callout revised 8. The stormwater site plan report indicates "The two existing driveways shall be used to access the site". The western most driveway is not an approved driveway. West driveway removed. If you have any questions or comments regarding the responses to this review please do not hesitate to call. Sincerely, CG Engineering C.
