Design Sheets (COI, CO2, CO3, & C05) City of Edmonds Attn: JoAnne Zulauf 3 January 12, 2017 Response to November 4, 2016 Plan Review Corrections PED Project No. 16001 a. Delete flow control structure. The pump needs to act as the flow control structure and needs to discharge the same as a code compliant gravity detention system. 2. Page 3 of Storm Drainage, Storm Pump Station and Forcemain Report a. Currentpump is currently designed to discharge at a rate greater than allotived Please size it per the handouts. 3. Design Sheet (CO4) a. Need details for pump system and structure in the plan set, including anti flotation device and associated buoyancy tales. 4. Design Sheets (CO1, CO2, CO3, & C05) a. The overflow for the detention system as shown on the plans is not acceptable since it would cause downstream erosion, sedimentation. Downstream building flooding is also likely. Therefore the overflow will also need to be a pumped system designed to handle the overflow flow rate and the system will need an external alarm and backup power to power the overflow pump. Design plans and report will need to reflect this accordingly. Please contact Mike De Lilla at the contact information above with any questions concerning the stormwater pump comments. In light of the storm pump comments, is it possible to maybe put the pump structure at the back of the house and then force line to the detention, maybe in the front of the house or wherever it is possible to gravity to avoid some of the issues above? Just a thought. Response: Detention tank has been moved to the access easement under the access driveway and has a gravity outfall to the drainage ditch that is a part of the Talbot Park B Creek drainage system. Use the existing dry well as the pump storage tank. Use a sump pump installed in a Type I CB to pump storm water to the detention tank. The sump pump is equipped with a battery back-up system and external alarm. We believe that the above responses, together with the enclosed revised plans address all of your comments.
