The Fire Department provides the following comments and corrections in accordance with the 2003
International Fire Code and Edmonds Community Development Code:
1. Cloud your revisions.
2. Sheets A1.0.4, A2.0, & A2.01
Update revised OCCUPANCY INFO and new calculations from sheet A1.0 A
3. Fire protection vault is not allowed where designed-see Engineering comments. Please
assure all sheets including A1.0.4, A2.0, A2.0.1, F2.0, A2.7, A4.0, C3 and Fire Connection
permit are revised to show DCDA relocation information.
4. Sheets A1.0.4, A2.0, A2.0.1, F2.0, and A2.7
Exterior RETAIL doors (25) must open towards the direction of egress: outside. Revise
door-swing.
5. Sheets A1.0 C and A.2.0.1
Provide approved “KEEP (CORRIDOR) CLEAR” signage throughout exit corridor and on
OPENING SCHEDULE NOTES for doors 22, 49-54, and 60.
6. Sheet A.2.0.1
Callout FD lockbox symbol in vicinity of match line F.0/1.0.
7. Sheet A1.0.2 & A1.0.3, and C2
Assure 20’ clear apparatus width to a height of 13’ 6” adjacent to building for FIRE LANE
purposes.
8. Sheet A1.0.2 & A1.0.3, and C2
Stripe and paint “FIRE LANE – NO PARKING” east of NEW CONC. CURB between parking
and alley.

Doors 34 and 43: delete “Door to remain open…” signs. The only hardware provided shall
be panic hardware.
