bld20060845 Revision-Awnings.pdf DATE: October 16, 2009 TO: Ralph Allen rwallen@gracearchitectspllc.com FROM: Jeanie McConnell, Engineering Program Manager RE: Application #: bld20060845 Project: Old Milltown th Project Address: 201 5 Ave S During review of the above noted application, it was found that the following information, corrections, or clarifications are needed. Please submit three (3) sets of revised plans/documents with a written response to each of the items below to Theresa Umbaugh. 1.Please submit a traffic control plan for review and approval. Placement of signage and barricades for sidewalk closure shall be shown on the plans. In addition, if parking areas are to be closed then signage and barricades shall be shown for that as well. 2.City records indicate the encroachment permit previously issued for the subject property was never recorded with Snohomish County. Snohomish County apparently rejected the submittal back in 2007. The description of the encroachments at that time included the following: parapet, column plinths, planter boxes, plaques, awnings, entry structure. In reviewing the current plan submittal it does not appear as though the above noted encroachments exist. If the objects to be placed in the City right-of-way can be considered temporary in nature then a Street Use permit can be issued instead of an Encroachment permit. However, if there are permanent encroachments not clearly indicated on plans, please revise accordingly. If you agree that all objects to be placed in the right-of-way will be temporary (awnings and hanging planters bolted to the building are considered temporary), then please provide the following: a.A completed Street Use Permit application (attached with handout E75). b.An insurance certificate consistent with the example provided in handout E75. 3.Sheets A2.0 and A2.0.1 indicate outdoor seating with tables and chairs on the City sidewalk. Please note a separate permit will be required for outdoor dining and shall be obtained by the business owner. A redline note will be placed on the plans to reflect this. Please contact me at 425-771-0220 or by e-mail at mcconnell@ci.edmonds.wa.us if you have specific questions regarding these plan corrections. bld20060845 Revision-Awnings Page 1 of 1
